About our client.
We are recruiting and experienced Physician Associate in GP on behalf of our client. Our client is a NHS GP Practice that offers virtual/e-consults as well as face to face appointments for its patients in North Central London. The practice work in a unique 1st contact model, predating Covid, with patients to ensure a fast responsive access to medical services. The practice has a large team of GP's, nurses, physios, specialist consultants, dieticians and pharmacists and are looking for Physician Associates to join their team. The practice uses EMIS and undertakes the majority of its appointments virtually via a specialist platform. Virtual work doesn't not necessarily mean remote, that clinicians can't be based on site. The practice has a virtual consulting suite for clinicians to be able to use on site if they wish. Virtual clinicians can also book patients into face to face appointments where necessary.
The practice is looking to recruit a number of Physician Associate's to help deliver their 1st contact service. Initially, they are looking to recruit an experienced Physician Associate and will be looking to add a further 3-4 either experienced or newly qualified physician associates to the team.
Full training in providing remote consultations is offered and a clear clinical supervision process is in place for complex needs patients. Further ongoing training and CPD is available.
Ideally, you will be an experienced Physician Associate with at least 1 year experience in GP. You may already have in experience and confidence in undertaking virtual/remote consultations by phone, video and written. You may also have experience in using EMIS/ACCURX and Docman remotely. You may live within commuting distance of North London and able to work on-site in the virtual consultation suite and able to also offer face to face appointments or home visits. However, you may also live anywhere in the UK and provide remote only although you will need to demonstrate experience in working remotely with patients. You will have experience of a broad range of conditions that you would expect in GP. Although experience in long term condition management would be particularly advantageous. As part of your role you will also be helping the practice to understand how they can develop support for newly qualified Physician Associates preceptorship.
You will be available to work across a normal GP rota (Monday to Friday 0730-1830) but also able to work extended hours (evenings and weekends). Part time would be considered however, you would need to have at least 25% time availability across normal GP working hours.
You will need to have at least one year experience as a Physician Associate in GP, experience in providing remote consultations. You will need to be registered with the PAMVR.
You will be offered a competitive salary & NHS pension, full training on using their bespoke system and undertaking higher level remote consultations. You will also be provided with 40hours study leave (pro rata for PT) per annum and CPD. You will also have the opportunity of consideration to develop into a Lead Physician Associate as the practice looks to recruit further Physician Associates to the team.
Please note that this is not a locum with ad hoc sessional availability. You will be a fully integrated member of the clinical team.
